Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data SaveMyCert (the “Service”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile and email.
- Study activity: enrollments, lesson progress, practice and mock-exam results, streaks, and bookmarks — used to power your dashboard and readiness.
- Technical data: a first-party cookie for your session, an anonymous identifier used to meter free usage, and standard server logs.
2. How we use it
- To provide the Service: authentication, access control, and your study experience.
- To send transactional email (e.g. password resets) and, if you opt in, study reminders and product updates.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
3. Cookies
We use strictly-necessary first-party cookies for authentication and freemium metering. These are required for the Service to function and do not track you across other sites. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with processors that help us operate: our database and hosting infrastructure, and — if configured — our email provider. Each processes data on our behalf under contract.
5. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data; we may retain limited records where required for legal or accounting purposes.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these, email privacy@savemycert.com.
7. Security
We protect your data with measures including password hashing (Argon2id), encrypted transport (HTTPS), a strict content-security policy, and least-privilege access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
8. Changes
We may update this Policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest version. See also our Terms of Service.
