Every attempt draws questions you haven't met yet first · Pro.
A full-length paper drawn to the same domain weights, from the questions we rate hardest — the ones that combine two facts or weigh workable options against each other.
One exam domain at the real exam's pace — for the domain your last mock went worst in.
What's in a GenAI Leader mock paper
Each paper draws its questions per domain in the same proportions Google Cloud publishes for the real GenAI Leader — so a mock that goes badly in one domain is telling you something a randomly-drawn quiz couldn't.
| Domain | Official weight | Questions drawn | Share of paper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fundamentals of gen AI | 30% | 17 | 31% |
| Google Cloud's gen AI offerings | 35% | 19 | 35% |
| Techniques to improve gen AI model output | 20% | 11 | 20% |
| Business strategies for a successful gen AI solution | 15% | 8 | 15% |
| Total | 100% | 55 | 100% |
What a GenAI Leader paper is shaped like
Which way this particular paper applies pressure.
The clock
At roughly 1.6 minutes a question, the pacing is comfortable but not generous. You can afford to think on a hard question, and you cannot afford to do it twice. Most candidates finish with time for a second pass if they keep the first pass moving.
The weighting
The weighting is top-heavy: Google Cloud's gen AI offerings alone accounts for 35% of the paper. That concentration cuts both ways on a mock — a bad run in that one domain will sink the whole score, and a good one can flatter you into thinking the rest is covered. Read the per-domain breakdown before you read the total.
The standard
The pass mark is 700 on the 100–1000 scale. Because scaling adjusts for the difficulty of the particular set you were served, there is no fixed number of questions that guarantees it — which is exactly why a single mock result means less than a consistent one.

What trips people up on a Generative AI Leader mock
This is a business exam wearing technical vocabulary. Questions ask which approach serves a stated organisational goal — cost, risk, time to value, governance — and the technically most sophisticated option is frequently wrong. Candidates from engineering backgrounds consistently over-pick it on mocks.
The paper is anchored to Google Cloud's own portfolio and terminology, so general familiarity with generative AI carries you less far than you would expect. Knowing what each named product is positioned to do, and for whom, is a large share of the marks.
Because the real exam releases no score — only a section breakdown, and only if you fail — your mock per-domain figures are the only diagnostic you get before you sit it. Treat them as the real signal and aim for comfortable margin rather than a narrow pass.
Terminology precision matters more here than on a technical paper, because the distinctions being tested are conceptual rather than mechanical. Terms that are used loosely in everyday conversation are used exactly in the exam, and a mock miss is often a vocabulary problem wearing the costume of a knowledge problem.
Because the real exam releases no score, and section feedback only after a fail, the per-domain figures from your mocks are the only diagnostic available before you sit it. Keep them across attempts rather than looking at each paper in isolation — a domain that is consistently weakest is far more informative than any single result.
