Free ACE mock exams

The ACE is a doing exam. Questions describe a task and ask how you would carry it out, often down to which command or console path is correct — so it rewards people who have actually provisioned things and penalises pure reading more sharply than most associate-level papers do.

Planning and implementing, and ensuring successful operation, are the two heaviest domains and they overlap in practice: many questions could be filed under either. That overlap is useful after a mock, because a weakness usually shows up in both at once and can be closed in one pass.

Access and security questions turn on the IAM model — who is granted what, at which level of the resource hierarchy, and what is inherited. Candidates who miss these rarely lack the facts; they have not internalised the hierarchy, which is a diagram-and-ten-minutes problem rather than a study-block problem.

The service surface here is broad and the exam samples widely across it, so mocks tend to expose unfamiliar corners rather than deep gaps. Track which services you keep meeting for the first time across several papers — that list, rather than the score, is the useful output of a mock at this stage.

Questions about cost and quota management appear across every domain rather than in one of their own. If your misses cluster around limits, billing and project structure, that is a single coherent gap even though it will look scattered across the per-domain breakdown.
